sway bar?
i just noticed. my truck dont even have one! did some trucks come without them stock? going to fine a 1ton to put on there. what will i need to do all the swap?
also my truck is lowerd

Your going to need the brackets that attach to the frame, I would hit up CPP, they have brackets for sway bars that are shorter for lowered trucks.. But yes, some trucks came with them and with out.

My loaded 87 silverado did not. Be prepared for a night/day difference when you install one! After I installed my Belltech front sway bar, cornering was actually FUN. Go cart like handling.

Mine is an 87 Custom Deluxe that came with a stabilizer bar from factory, but it has a 4.3L 4speed and no power steering. Btw F59 is the code for the anti-sway bar< just read it off my original window sticker.

My '78 half ton didn't have one. I got one off a big ol 8lug suburban, 1.25" with energy suspension bushings. If you need the brackets, look around for vendors that sell them, or brackets that were bolted on...The truck I got my brackets from were riveted on...they were a PITA to remove

Mine didn't come factory with a sway bar either... although, it does have the 'holes' pre drilled in the frame and 'A' arms for a bar, I guess if I decided to have one installed aftermarket.... you can might be able to plug and play... and just buy the kit

Just a word of caution here.
Don't go crazy with this. You can go "too far", especially with a front only install. The more "bar" you add to the front, the more you increase the truck's tendancy to "understeer". It also reduces the ability of the front wheels to act "independantly" which translates into a harsher ride. A 1ton truck has stiffer springs for the sway-bar to "work against", so it will be bigger/stiffer, but it may be too much. On most vehicles, when an "up-grade" front bar is installed, a rear sway bar is needed too. Too much of a good thing is still too much. A regular bar made for your truck will be better in most aspects. If you "need" that much in the front, you may "need" one in the back to compensate for it...
