Eastwood sells this stuff. Pretty sure this is what I will use when I get around to doing this little project.

Reflective Aluminum Aerosol 11.3 oz

Item No. - 10005 Z
Ideal for any damaged reflective surface such as light bezels, inside of bumpers, bumper guards (overriders) and more! Apply over clean, rust-free surfaces. This acrylic lacquer is the closest paint to chrome plating and polished aluminum. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PAINTING THE OUTSIDE SURFACES OF CHROME TRIM. One can covers 6 sq. ft., withstands up to 250 degrees F, low 3-6% gloss. For greater durability top coat with Diamond Clear Gloss for Painted Surfaces (10196Z). Buy 3 or more and SAVE!

Regular Price: $7.99
Sale Price: $7.19
(Savings: $0.80)

If anyone has a spare step side tail light lens and bucket they would be willing to donate, that would make things WAY faster for fabbing up the step side deal. I can return it after I'm done, but I would rather have a crappy one that is on its way to the dumpster all rusted out and having a cracked lens. That way if I get it all FUBARed...no one will care.
Any one have a nasty one laying around?

wow - you are asking for a miracle there, longhornmail. my stepside housings are out of a junkyard, and they themselves are pretty rusted and just barely holding together. (seriously --- the one has a light housing that is just about to fall out!) i looked more than five years to find those! i'm definitely NOT letting go of them easily. i might be willing to loan them out, but i would NEVER give them up, even when they are in this bad condition.

i don't know what reproductions are out there, but the few that i have bought are not TRUE reproductions, they are just replacements. the housings are never the same. which makes sense, since the housings are really strangely shaped and contoured.

i would be MORE than happy to take a million pictures and measurements for ya, if that would help. it sure would beat having to take the set off my truck (that i just recently put on!).

let me know!

Andy I'll look around here and see what I can find. Mine are in pretty good shape, but my truck is a somewhat daily driver. I'll let ya know if I find anything, cuz I really want LED's!
