Right before my HEI puked last year I would notice my aftermarket tach bouncing and occasionally losing all signal (returning to 0). Just a thought.

Not sure on a factory tach as far as wiring goes, I'm sure someone else can chime in and help you there.

Its got HEI now. That shouldnt make it bounce should it? Well i hope the HEI dont puke but if it does I just bought a new MSD for the blazer I can use it.
