50's longbed fleetside on a 64-66 truck?

Has anyone here done this?

Will it fit? I love the "rocket" detail on the 50's fleetside beds and wonder if they'd fit on a 64-66 without much modification.

I'm looking for a little something to personalize my truck further(already putting a 60 hood on it.)

Would anyone be willing to do a photochop?

(btw- I used the search function but got critical errors each of the 5 times I tried with different wording)

Thanks in advance!

Baz

Hmm. Not sure. I've seen 60-66 bed on on early 50's truck.

In John Wayne movie Hatari

I can’t remember ever seeing this configuration, but it could be interesting.

If you can provide photos that comply with the Photoshop Guidelines, someone will probably photoshop this for you. Here’s a link to the photoshop thread:

The cross sills will probably not match up due to the narrower track width. Find a baord member here with one and see if the can measure everything.... then do a photoshop with your truck.

I put a mid 50s stepside on my 63, I only had to put 1" square tubes at each mounting spot which was easy.

Yes, looks just the same except the mounting points are different widths.

When I first saw it, it made me think of an old F##d. I have always thought that the bed on them looked out of proportion with the rest of the truck.

Re: 50's longbed fleetside on a 64-66 truck?

Thanks for posting those photos!

Now I see that the body character lines don't really match with the ones on the bed. I suppose one could take the top of a 60's bed and the bottom of a 50's bed and blend them, but that's beyond my skill and inclination for now- again- thanks for the input, guys, it's great to be back here and working on my trucks again!

Just have someone fab them out of sheetmetal and weld and smooth on to your bed.
