Need help locating 205 tcase part
I am looking for the gear that the speedo cable screws into on the tail housing of a 205 transfer case. for my 70 blazer. Based on my research, I don't think that they make this gear anymore. Is anyone parting out a 205 case that may have one that I can buy? Thanks for the help.

Re: Need help locating 205 tcase part
I'm not sure I know exactly which part you need there, but that piece that the speedo cable screws onto is still available. I know because I recently bought one from a Chevy dealer. It has a seal in it, and mine was leaking gear oil out the speedo cable inlet. It is still in their parts directory.
Fixed the leak real good. 72longbed |

Re: Need help locating 205 tcase part
Sorry. Once again I am using a 350 turbo automatic transmission. The speedo cable screws into the fitting in the picture which holds the gear into the 205 transfercase tail housing.

Re: Need help locating 205 tcase part
I think you might be surprised if you go to a Chevy dealership parts department and ask them to look in the micro-fish. I'll bet you can still buy it from Chevy. They may have to locate it on another dealer's shelf somewhere, but you would be getting a new part.
Give it a try. 72longbed |
