67-72 C10 cabs...
Is a stepside cab the same as a regular fleetside cab when swapping? I'm thinking of getting this stepside cab and transferring it to my fleetside cab. The cab is a 68 and my cab is a 69. I don't want to pick it up and find out that the bolt location and what not does not match with my existing cab frame.

Re: 67-72 C10 cabs...
yes, the cab for a stepside is the same as a fleetside, or even a cab/chassis truck. The cabs are also the same from 10 to 30 series, or C and K series.
Some small things could be 'wrong' depending on how the donor truck was equipped, high hump floor verses low hump, clearance lights (not all one tons had them) A/C verses non A/C all come to mind. However, there are minor changes through the years, and your 68 donor for a 69 truck would have a few things that wouldn't be 'right', like the hand brake instead of foot brake, the fuse box and harness being mounted verticle verses horizontal, wiper switch being mounted on the left side of the inst panel, and no provisons for door jamb light switches for the dome light all come to mind. |
