Cab mounts - Poly or rubber?
I know this is probably on here somewhere, but I'm not allowed to search, so here goes again.
I have heard mix reviews about what type of cab mounts to use, either poly or rubber. I would like to bring this up again. Would like your thoughts and/or experiences with the poly. Someone said they squeek. But someone else said they don't if you use the grease it comes with. Well my kit didn"t come with any grease so I'm wondering now if I want to use them. Won't be doing any major offroading with this vehicle. Does it make the ride noticably rougher? Would like to use the poly because they are supposed to be the best. Your thoughts please. I'm no authority on this but I do remember reading a post or 2 about this; maybe it'll help get the ball rolling. I think the consensus by the end of the last thread I checked was that rubber ones are better because they soak up more vibrations, don't squeak and won't cause mounts or stress point on the cab to crack over time. Also, cab mounts don't really have that much to do with handling so I think the ideal that was settled on was poly for all suspension stuff and rubber for the mounts.

Check-out www.P-S-T.com for a cab mount set. If they don't make a kit for your application, I would recommend polyurethane. Less body-to-frame deflection, very durable, and resistant to the elements that build-up over time. The body will feel more solid driving down the road but you will notice a bit more vibration. Not too much from what I've been told though. Use a high-quality lithium based grease and the mounts shouldn't squeak. Another advantage to PST is you don't have to grease the bushings.....period!

Well from what I have heard about the poly cab mounts is they give a rougher ride, personally I would just use the rubber for cab, bed and Core support and use the poly for the suspension!

i have poly mounts on my longhorn due to clutch linkage issues with the tilt front clip. the cab wanted to squirm around on the frame with only 4 mounts. The poly mounts tightened that up, & gave me back the "feel" on the clutch peddle. they do ride stiffer than the rubber mounts, but I havent noticed any squeaks. Good luck,crazyL
