Re: new to the site
I would stay with carb, depending on what you want the engine to do, i run a 650 double pumper holley but don't expect gas milege with that mine gets about 7 mpg, as far as the 383 do you want a ground pounder or do you want something mild, alot of things could factor how you bulid it, standard or automatic trans, high or low rear gears. if you run a stall converter or not and on and on.. maybe this helped........and welcome to the board.....Tom

Re: new to the site
Welcome to the site - a great site I might add. Wish I could offer up some sage advice for you, but I am pretty much in the same boat as you trying to decide which way to go with my engine as well as the rest of the build. Good Luck.

Re: new to the site
welcome to the forums, I stayed carb also with my 383, But it is all what you want and expect out of your ride. you can stay with what you have and then always change later. save your self money as you go with the project till you may wish to change.

Re: new to the site
I have a 402 c.i. stroker and have a 600cfm edlebrock, electric choke and love it. does great even in cold weather. e.f.i. would have been nice but not in the budget!! at 10:1 compression i have to run 91 octane. but get around 14 mpg on the highway.oh yea welcome to the board, lots of guys way smarter than me on here!
