Re: Please Take a Look
Ya i wondered if it puts a ton of stress on the front drive line.
I would use a 3/4 or 1 ton.

Re: Please Take a Look
Thats cool. It looks like a car trailer welded to a truck? That sure seems like it would be taxing on it if it's running on a front drive line.

Re: Please Take a Look
In regards to the trans. you simply pull the rear tranny shaft out and make a press fit cap that replaces the rear oil seal.
While I also think the truck is interesting, the concept just doesn't seem to be cost effective and is wrought with issues:
Just seems like a whole can of worms.A stock truck and fifth wheel trailer set-up would be cheaper and much more manueverable. And it doesn't have any of the above issues. Additionally you still have a regular truck that is marketable to the masses. Here is another concern: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=859251 I can't speak for other states, but in Kalifornia, you will have to pull through the scales and will be subject to DOT inspections. Re: Please Take a Look
The only way I would do that is if I had a pickup that the rear half was written off, otherwise a seperate trailer is more practical. However if I did it I would raise the bed and put tandem drive axles in the rear.

Those front tires look a little skimpy to be pulling all that weight around.
