Need help with Pinon Yoke sizes
I just picked up a C10 rearend unit from my local salvage yard, I notice the pinon yoke is smaller and the driveshaft rear universal joint don't match up. it requires a driveshaft with a smaller universal joint with the outer clips, the one currently in the truck is larger and have the inner clips.
1. How many different size pinon yokes came on the C10 pickup? 2. Can I swap the pinon yokes, or should I purchase the driveshaft with the smaller universal joint that's match up with the recently purchased rearend? |

Re: Need help with Pinon Yoke sizes
What year truck and what rearend do you have now?
What year truck and what kind of rearend is the donor axle? 12 bolts had 2 different style yokes, 10 bolts had 3 or 4. Both 10 and 12 bolts can swap yokes no problem. As said above, conversion joint works too. |

Wow, I didn't know there was a conversion U-joint, I'll go with the conversion U-joint, this is why I love this message board! Thanks again |
