Purple Hornies?
Has anyone used the Purple Hornie Flow Tech glasspack mufflers that bolt on to the the headers and turn down? How do they sound? Are they street legal?

I think they sound pretty bad. I had a set on my truck for about 4-5 months and couldn't wait to get rid of them. I am in Colorado and I think they were legal here.

Had them on a Firebird, noisy, and slapped speed bumps with a passion. I think Messed Up C10 has them on.

Yep I got them. They are great if you don't have alot of money and dont have to worry about emissons. I have a sound byte in my sig. I kind of over did it with the reving but you should get the general idea of how they sound. Considering where they exit they are pretty quiet, and yes I have gotten them to shoot flames a couple of times.

There must still be demand for the"Purple Hornies" I bought my set back in 1972, some 32 years ago. Just thinking about it bring back some fond memories.

I think they brought them back just a couple of years ago.
All this talk about my current exhaust brought back the horrid thoughts of my old exhaust. http://www.geocities.com/worldtraveler07/exhaust.html the pics don't do the exhaust justice. I think the guy that put that together was very very stoned or very very dumb.

Also but maybe its just on mine. At certain times the rattle caused from the exhaust will screw up my radio antenna and make the signal cut in and out, but like I said if you don't have alot of money to spend but need to get rid of your old exhaust one of the best setups to go with would be hedman headers or Flowtech Afterburner Headers with the Purple Hornies because it is very cheap.

Nope. Flowtech claims that with the different design from standard headers they can do they same thing the big tubes do but with smaller tubes. They work fine. I've never used big tubes so I dont know the difference.
