Got some new parts!
I have been working on a new engine for my 84 GMC and I just got the headers, fuel pump and regulator I ordered for it. Man it feels like Christmas! I got a chance to bolt the headers up last night with my young apprentice. Oh btw I got all the parts from Skip White Performance on ebay.

Re: Got some new parts!
Thanks man! The air cleaner is a fiberglass replica of a 51-56 Olds/Cadillac that I painted a few year ago. I'm not sure if I am going to use it or not. The headers are mid length chevelle stainless steele headers that I got from ebay for $179 plus shipping. I had to use the because my truck is super low and I didn't want the exhaust to hand down beneath the frame.

Re: Got some new parts!
Now I need a good distributor for a roller cam and some braided (non stainless steele) fuel line. Got any ideas? The air cleaner is hitting the distributor cap, so I will probrably go with a generic round 14" cleaner. And does anyone know what size pipe plugs go into the Edelbrock vortec intakes?

Re: Got some new parts!
Thanks guys! Its actually filthy in the pics but I think I need to debling it and go a different direction. I just need a few more parts and I can install it into my 84.

The air cleaner looks really good! Have you thought about using a small spacer under it to raise it up where it doesn't contact to dizzy? My dads air cleaner was contacting the throttle linkage at 3/4 throttle so we made a 1/2" spacer out of plastic pipe for it. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Got some new parts!
Thanks for the compliment. Yeah...I thought about running a spacer but from the front/side view it already looks very high. I am thinking of running a classic style round air cleaner. The engine block will be the same color as the truck when I am finished. I want to install the round air cleaner and get it powder coated black chrome with my valve covers. As it sits now the engine has too much bling for me. It needs a little contrast.
