Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
Here is mine when I got it. (Pics do it justice!) Frame was severly twisted and paint is badly cracked.
By claypool782 at 2010-04-27 By claypool782 at 2010-04-27 Bought a new frame out of Texas to put under it and this is pretty much how it is sitting right now, patiently waiting on its BB. By claypool782 at 2010-09-23 By claypool782 at 2010-09-23 |

Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
Pretty quick couple of pics of the tear down of my truck. Started life as a 66K origional mile Silverado with every option except auto trans. Pulled the driveline and installed a two cycle aluminum Detroit Diesel and 10 speed Roadranger overdrive.

Here's how it sits in the garage right now. All my time in the past couple months has been spoken for by these little guys.

Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
I got it a year ago this week. The PO had caught the side on fire, there was a healthy dose of rust all over the cab, and it had a 250 L6/3-on-the-tree in it- which I robbed and put into a 65 GMC.
Now it's all painted and half-assembled. New floors, inner and outer rockers, cab supports, kick panels, cab corners, firewall, doors, fenders, core support, tail gate, front bed panel, bed strips. No motor or trans, but I just got a bunch of power stuff for it and a wiring kit. Slow progress for me. Some custom items: All new brakes and suspension with 5/5 drop: Being "Black Truck", everything gets painted either gloss or flat black.

Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
seanpaintsflames, We need a pick of that reflection of a mercury! First car I had at 14 yrs. old was a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7. Green/black vinyl. Stripped down painted mustang red with three white stripes a the bottom, slots, and shackles and air shocks. Jacked up so high and tight it hopped on burn outs and would pull the nuts of the shock studs! Oh to be 16 again in 1981! Blew the 289 and dad and I replaced it with a 351.
Sorry for the hijack guys. Couldn't help myself.
