I need bucket seats...

Whos got ideas/stories of bucket seats they installed into their standard cab trucks? I need to put an MTX 8500 which I already had and dont want to give up into the truck but theres no room behind the seats. Center console it is. I just need ideas for seats that arent $250 a piece from LMC...Any suggestions for what would bolt right up?

Re: I need bucket seats...

I bought a set from a Suburban of the same body style with the center console for $100. I haven't bolted them in yet, but they should be a good fit.

Re: I need bucket seats...

Ive heard from some people that the floor pan is different and might not be an exact fit. Let me know how those work for you. If they bolt right up thats what I'll get...

Re: I need bucket seats...

If you can find the buckets out of a Suburban up to 91', you will be in good shape. I did the same thing on my 82'. Just be sure and grab the " A " brackets that are welded to the floor pan or fab your own. You would also need to bend the bucket seat tracks a little to match the contour of the rear of your cab. Going to do the same thing on my 77' SWB 4wd (using the buckets from my old 77' K5). Good luck from a former North Carolina boy............

Oops. I didn't grab brackets of any letter. I guess I have some fab work ahead of me. I did get two wood blocks that were supposed to be factory issued spacers for the mounting. Now I have to watch for termites in my truck.

Re: I need bucket seats...

I can assure you there were no "factory issued" wood spacers in a 73-87 bucket seat track.

the hole by the blue wire in the front is where the " A " bracket goes

Shucks. People will just tell you anything... I was only buying the seats, not the story.

Im gonna upholster these in my 83 4x4. I'm gonna add 2 inches of foam. They were only $40 a piece.
