Decided to paint my 62
Probably the easiest way is to link to my facebook profile instead of uploading them all, but here's the finished pic. I was going to try to sand it and leave it patina'd, but the roof is the only thing it worked on. Everything else was so rusted, it just sanded down to the metal.

Will any rust left continue to rust? What kind of paint did you use? Now it looks way better!

Re: Decided to paint my 62
I used Rustoleum flat black sandable primer, then the Rustoleum clear coat sealer. 3 coats of primer, 2 coats sealer. I sanded the rust with CLR and sandpaper/brillo pads to get as much off as I could, then sealed with Rustoleum Rust Preventer before the primer.
No, those are the headlight brackets that hold the lights in, original I guess. I'm looking for new bezels, as the ones that I have are rusted pretty bad. Guess I'll paint them white till I can find some new or chrome ones. Thanks for looking! |

Those headlight bezels arent easy to come by, keep your eye on ebay and they will pop up here and there.
