LQ9 swap on 1989 c1500??
Hello , I am planning to swap out my engine for a LQ9 before the year ends. So I am planning to use my truck as a daily driver and keeping it EFI but I want to change the cam for bigger cam without changing the stock converter .
What cam for daily use ? What long tube header would work on my c1500 with lq9? What motor mounts will work ? What tranny should i get if I am planning to stay with EFI? Just asking to see how much I have to come out of pocket .. |

Keeping stock TC, then you will need a 2teen intake duration cam, anything bigger and it will not be as much fun.
Get the LSx swap motor swap plates and use stock mounts any Trans will work, just decide and then you have to figure out other things.

I was thinking of getting a comp cam thumper cam. What you guys think about this cam. About the transmission I really want a good 4 speed IDK yet what to get. I am trying to stay with stock converter but if have to get a little bigger converter I would change it
