I buy mostly from Classic Parts. Their prices are usually quite a bit cheaper than LMC.

If you need show quality restoration, then new aftermarket parts are the way to go, and Classic parts are as good as LMC and cheaper. There are other aftermarket dealers on the net. If you need a driver quality restoration, then used parts are a possibility - your can paint the door panels/parts if you can't find your desired color. The painting process is not hard to do and the paints sold for this purpose like SEM brand or Duplicolor hold up well. On close inspection you can notice any defects in a repainted door panel, but that is why I call it driver quality, not show quality.

Re: help shopping for interior parts where to go?

My panels were shot also. Mine had a lot of caked on dirt/grease (especially the driver's side), so I wet sanded them down (lost the vinyl texture) to get rid of the gunk, then put several coats of SEM paint on them. Here is a shot of my cheap restore. I used JC Whitney aftermarket door pulls to save money (actually stronger than stock with a metal insert). Had a local upholsterer do the carpet on the door bottom, but I would buy them factory made next time. I got the door pull caps from Checker Auto (aftermarket, HELP). I was able to disassemble the door pocket and paint the vinyl, then reassemble the elastic with new staples to the back of the hardboard. If you have a soft fiberglass headliner it is easy to have a local upholsterer recover it. If I had to do it over again I would get late model Silverado/Sierra seats with integral seat belts, or Chrysler Sebring convertible seats with integral belts rather than have the old seat rebuilt/recovered.

Re: help shopping for interior parts where to go?

i bought some Door Panels from Classic Industries. They are the Coverlay brand...they are actually cheaper than coverlay sells them for directly. They are pretty nice, but the color isn't that nice. I think classic industries and coverlay both advise the color match isn't exact, but an approximation...more of a choclate milk tone, than tan, but definetly 1000% better than my crusty old sun dried originals.

Re: help shopping for interior parts where to go?

LMC is a bit more pricey generally, but they're quality is also usually top notch. Most everything I bought for my interior is through them. But some things aren't readily available & will be re-dyed to match new interior. Also, the LMC catalog is second to none when shopping for parts in how it's laid out & illustrated!!!!
