rattling tale gate

Is there any fix for the rattling tale gate straps?

on a stepside? ya can get plastic to go over the chain deadens the noise some or maybe use some rubber from an old bicycle innertube

are the rubber stops and rub pads in there right on the sides of the bed ends??

they seem to be. It seems the folding brakets are really loose and sloppy.

there was a good thread about this a while back.. some people suggested bending the straps slightly, and swore by it but for the life of me I couldnt get it to work.. Too bad the search feature is disabled right now..

You can replace the metal brackets with a steel cable that is coverd with rubber. I cant remenber where they sell these but I know I have seen them.
