Re: What did you get done 3/27/11 editionj
I got my brakes completely redone from booster to shoes and its stopping better than it has since I've had it.
I got a GM window regulator installed in the drivers side door and found me a cool tag for the front at the dealer for $5 I also found a set of window crank handles that dont suck. The plastic kind these trucks came with suck in every way unless you have a GM set. These Are Dorman pn# 76912. They fit perfectly and are metal and the knob is tight enough it doesnt rattle. I like em. I got new PS lines installed on the truck and had to put an alternator on the focus. Next on the list is installing my old kelsey hayes trailer brake controller. It taps into the brake lines. I'll be mounting it vertically on the plastic trim panel to the left of the parking brake pedal, as high up as it will go. Re: What did you get done 3/27/11 editionj
i got this done this weekend.
Now to fence it in and put the gate towards the rear so that I have a space to park the Truck in the winter. With the new kid coming in October I need to get it done before money gets tight.

Re: What did you get done 3/27/11 editionj
i have NEVER seen a window like that before, VERY cool, any other pics?
oh and my weekend consisted of setting up all day friday for our local Ducks Unlimited Banquet, then we held the Banquet yesterday evening, and all us committee members somehow happened to get sloshed and sing kakoke after the banquet at a local bar. Today i basically took it easy and relaxed and ended up digging my parents summer car out of our garage/storage for this summer. That car would be an 03 Ford T-Bird

Re: What did you get done 3/27/11 editionj
Had to work the week-end at the day job but did get time to clean up the dash area while waiting for parts. Still going to pull the cluster and do some more cleaning but as it sits it remains drivable.
Here is the before & after shots of time well spent. Did find the carcass of a mouse in the center speaker! I knew there was a smell still lingering from when I bought it a year ago! Got some wood split as well. Winter may be near to over but springtime has yet to warm us up. Mark

Re: What did you get done 3/27/11 editionj
Destroyed the rear suspension on the crew cab (intentionally). Removed junk springs, finding out how much of a PITA it is when the metal part of the shackle bushing siezes to the bolt. Ended up cutting the whole back of the shackle out with the plasma cutter.

Nothing on my truck. Was working on overhauling a I6 Diesel. Putting everything back together. Started at 8AM in the freezing cold, and was able to finish around 2PM. The only issue was a leaking hydraulic line, but that had nothing to do with the rebuild. Need to have a custom hose made to replace it.

NOthing! Waiting on some slow jackass to finish my transmission so I can put it and my engine in. I wouldn't be mad but he's fixing it cause he broke it to begin with and isn't in a hurry cause I'm not paying for it.

Re: What did you get done 3/27/11 edition
my week with the truck was a disappointing one. After changing the plugs/wires/cap and rotor last month. The truck still had a miss in it. so this weeked we changed out the coil and ignition control module....and it is still missing! grrr...I HATE ingition issues more than anything...starting to wonder if 3200 was as good a deal as I thought for the truck.
Not really surewhat to do next....

Re: What did you get done 3/27/11 edition
The only thing I did related to my truck was to go check out the progress being made on it by Vintage Air. They are using it to develop a new kit, and have had it for a couple of months. The work they are doing looks really nice, but I sure miss having it!

Re: What did you get done 3/27/11 edition
Yours wasn''t even in the bay. I was hoping to look at the suspension as you had suggested, but it wasn't there with mine.
The compressor was mounted up and they were just finishing up the condenser. I forgot to look inside, so I don't know how that part is going. Slonaker Last edited by Slonaker; 03-31-2011 at 01:15 PM. Reason: added details |

Re: What did you get done 3/27/11 edition
That's what I was figuring. I talked to Everest a couple of weeks ago, and he said they were waiting on the control heads to come back. He said mine would probably be pretty much just an installation at that point. It's last, since it took me a little longer to get it down there than we had hoped. I am hoping to have it back late April, early May. I've been going through withdrawals, though.
