Interchangable Parts Chevy to GMC
So I own a 1966 3/4 ton GMC long bed. My plans were to make it into a short bed by cutting the frame and shortening the bed, but I stumbled upon a 1965 Chevy shortbed truck. Both trucks are in questionable shape. I want the finished truck to have the GMC 4 front light assembly. Basically I would like to know if I can transfer my GMC parts to the Chevy frame easily. I will use the chevy bed and maybe even cab depending on which on is in better condidtion. Will the front clip of the GMC easily transfer to the Chevy cab and frame?

Re: Interchangable Parts Chevy to GMC
Will fit just fine. Earlier beds have different mounts but all shheetmetal should be fine.

Re: Interchangable Parts Chevy to GMC
yes everything you want to do should work , the early style bed stopped at 62,, the dash and the inst. cluster part of the wiring harness will be different.
grille will plug into the chevy harness. rear frame components are different because of the leaf rear in the gmc/vs the coil in the chev.
