New 72 C10
This is my first post but I have been lurking on here for a while. Last week I purchased a 1972 C10 lwb Stepside from my uncle. He purchased the truck from a friend of his with only 32,000 original miles. It had the original wheels and tires when he bought it. My cousins both drove it as their first car when they turned 16. When my youngest cousin graduated high school he purchased a new car and the truck has sat in the barn since 2003. I bought the truck last week. It is in very good condition. There is no rust except for very little surface rust and only 4 dents that I can see in the body. I put in a new battery and checked the fluids and started it right up. It runs like a top! The only problem that I can see under the hood is a cracked right hand exhaust manifold. I replaced the windshield wipers and got all of the lights working this weekend. Now I just have to get it registered and inspected and I will have a lot of fun with this little beauty. This picture is the day I bought it. It sat in the blue barn behind it. I am looking forward to learning new things from this board as I begin working on this truck!
God Bless! |

Re: New 72 C10
Cool truck to start with. Great that it has been stored inside all these years. You gonna clean it up and drive it or have you got a grand plan for it? And welcome to the boards.

Re: New 72 C10
I don't think I like your uncle very much. I am pretty sure I tried to buy that truck awhile back. I look at so many trucks, maybe he was asking too much money( i am always looking for too good of a deal) for me.
anyways it looks like a very nice truck.....congrats.....Jason

Re: New 72 C10
Thanks guys. My plans are to drive it as is for now. Eventually I want to do a frame off restoration. My son is 2 and I think it would be a great project for him and I to work on when he gets older.

Nice truck you got. Now put some miles on it and have some fun. It's been in that barn for way too long.
