First Carb Rebuild
I attemped my first carb rubuild today on a craigslist Edelbrock 1406. I got it all apart and the wall of the accelerator pump was flaking off and corroded. I cleaned it up the best I can and sanded it as smooth as I could. But im not going to use my rebuild kit on this carb, ill get a new core and try it again i guess.
here is the well after i cleaned it all out and sanded it. it looks pretty good but you can see the pitting in the wall.

Re: First Carb Rebuild
Yea it was a lot worse than it looks here. I didnt think of a brake hone, that may work good. How much you have the 1405 for?

Re: First Carb Rebuild
The link... ........
You could pick up a hone cheaper than my carb, but the hone might not fix it

Re: First Carb Rebuild
Yea there is a ridge thats pretty bad in there that you cant see from the photo. Im afraid I would have to remove so much material the pump seal wouldn't fit.
