Well recevied my new gm dash pad today

The box is stickered genuine GM and part # 15641405 however on the dash pad itself where the silverado trim goes it has this part number "14023014-6"??? whats the deal? i woulda expected to see 15641405 there.

also in that area is z-9-2 or that 2 may be a z too not sure kinda hard to tell and I'm guessing that is the date?

anyway any info on this is appreciated it's a perfect pad light grey got to dye to match just curious on this.

btw this is for my 87 silverado v10

My guess would be that it might be the original number. Gm is always " that number has changed up" so alot of the old part numbers have a different number now....or its just a production number

The numbers on GM parts themselves are just production nnumbers. Very seldom do the actually match the part number assigned to the part on it's packageing.

Cool deal thanks guy, anyone out there with an original one sitting around what does yours say on the dash? so I know 100% it's what I need bc it may be awhile before I install it don't want to find out it won't fit or something when I do and then too late to return it.
