Grounding ideas for bagged wiring?

was looking for some good weather proof ideas on where/how to ground my valves. i had them them all fitted with an open eye end, then all tied to one screw that i drilled into my frame. over the past year, its got rust all over it and really want to find a much cleaner looking solution that wont weather...any ideas?

also, looking for ideas to mount the relay and everything together thats all weather proof. even my power connections seem to be failing, so i would also like to make a weatherproof harness so i can just plug and unplug!

Re: Grounding ideas for bagged wiring?

After you get it all bolted together you can paint it.

Re: Grounding ideas for bagged wiring?

When I build a drag car All my grounds are bolts welded to the frame to form a stud. Put the wires on with anti coroision grease and also put it on all my exposed plugs. You can buy the weather tight connectors and pins and make up your own harnesses.

Re: Grounding ideas for bagged wiring?

I think most parts stores carry weatherpack connectors. They are just a universal type, weatherproof, electrical connection.

Re: Grounding ideas for bagged wiring?

check with your local John Deere store on the weatherpak connectors ... there are 8 pin connectors made, but they are tough to find.

That looks great! I was thinking of doing something similar as well, only I want to mount them on the frame. Just a few questions for you.

Do they echo when closed?
Did you vent them for air movement?
Thanks

Re: Grounding ideas for bagged wiring?

dangit...lol

where did you get yours from? i was thinking just running a wire from a ground on the frame to one screw in the strip...then connecting the other grounds to that strip. and putting the strip and relay in a project box that i bought from radio shack..

Re: Grounding ideas for bagged wiring?

this is how i did mine. i bought a weather tight box at HD supply and ran lines from the valves into it. my valves use a DIN style connector that allowed a weather tight connection at the valve. then ran into the box using a weather tight compression fitting. then used terminal strips with jumpers to make everything nice and clean.
