Re: Help Please!!
in any case i would definately spend 5 notes on it if i had them to spare. worse case you sell that straight looking body on craiglist at a profit...but i would much rather drive it. it looks like a shorty to me also. and i love short fleets.

Re: Help Please!!
Well got it picked up today and it turned out to be a shortbed after all. It has a auto not a 4 speed. I will post pics of it in a lil while since its still up on the trailer.

Re: Help Please!!
60-62 had an x frame and torsion bar style front suspension.
63-66 had a ladder frame and coil front springs. def. a 60-63 cab. def. a 62 grille, and 62 cowl extensions ( inbetween door and hood)

Re: Help Please!!
Also check the vin number.
Driver side post of door. Like john says its got to be 60-62. 62 grille. Does it have 62 badges? Check the casting numbers on the 327. What type of a auto? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Help Please!!
Ok, cant decide what to do. I can get another 327 thats already machined 60 and needs to be reassembled. or i can pick up a running 427.

Re: Help Please!!
hey, nice truck chvyman. my 2 cents would be small block for simplicity and parts interchangability (with your current motor's accessories, etc). If you don't need the accessories (i.e. distrib, alternator, etc etc) hang onto them and you have your own in-house parts store for when you do need them from the new 327. Scour some swap meets and grab some old vetter valve covers, an old carter and git some!
