I just set up my first Ebay auction for the gauge overlays.

These are for the white face overlays with no bowtie. I also have flamed overlays that I will be putting on Ebay after I see how these do.

Cool! Just a thought, I'd add a picture in there of these overlays on a set of guages in a truck. That way people have more confidence in how well they look. Good luck in selling them!

You can go a whole year without buying anything on Ebay? :p

I got my overlays last week and I can say they are very high quality and look awesome. So much so I ordered another set.

Now just need to get time to install them

I really wanted to put some pics of mine in there, but mine have the bowtie logo on them and I'm not offering those anymore until I have some sort of approval from GM. If someone didn't read the auction carefully and thought they were getting overlays with the bowtie on them and they showed up without, well, that just wouldn't be good

I had actually painted the entire thing chrome last year but then the overlay piece started peeling so I peeled it off and it left the inner portions of the bezel silver.

This is how it looked all chrome with the old overlays that I printed myself on regular sticker paper. I like it much better now

I tried to put mine on and snapped the needle off the spedo just can't win lately. I am looking for another spedo now I think this time I will cut a slit for the needle and slide it over.

Hey Steve,

Been there, done that. Sorry to hear it happened to you. It sucks, but I've learned you have to be gentle. If you have to use force, it WILL break.
Cutting a slit will work just fine and if you do it right, you shouldn't be able to tell there's a slit.

I hadn't really thought about it. I actually bought a set like that once (before I decided to make my own) and they sucked IMO. Plus, I decided I wanted to lighten up my dash since it's so dark. Now there's no problem seeing the gauges at night on dark streets with no street lighting

The reason they sucked because they where not yours.

But if you do decide to make them in any other colors like gray or blue let me know i want some.

Those flame ones look awesome. On the heater control did you have to grind off the factory letters on the plastic cover? I really dontt want to but I don't know if the letter line up. How does the heater control light up at night?

I used a fine abrasive pad and some paint thinner type liquid to remove the letters....the heater control actually lights up by a light bulb that is on the top right of the control

Did you chrome your gage unit ? I did mine and it definatly lights up now I got the info off of Mikes 73-87 site.
