New Big Block Progress
Added the headers, wire looms and the rest of the front accessory system. Should be in the truck in about a week, hopefully.

Re: New Big Block Progress
Mmmmm, shiny. Might want to check and make sure those wire looms are going to clear the firewall. Depends on how far back the motor is, but the wire looms I bought for the BBC in my 4x4 didn't clear and I had to do some modificactions.

Where did you get the pulley system and mounts? Also, where did you get the valve covers? That looks super nice!

Re: New Big Block Progress
Thanks for the comments
I bought the valve covers on line at Billet Specialties. They were $175.00 plus shipping I think. I bought the pulley system which included the pulleys, brackets, hardware and everything you need on line at Bills Hot Rod Company. They are in Southern CA. You can buy everything as a set or buy each bracket, pulley separately. They come in steel, black powder coat or chrome and polish. Thanks for the heads up on the wire looms. |

Re: New Big Block Progress
Kevinm, they are Hooker Super Competition Block Hugger headers. I bought them at Summit. They will make it easier to route the exhaust around the oil pan.

Re: New Big Block Progress
You can hear the motor run on a fast track at YouTube. The title of the video is 1972 Cheyenne K20. I would upload the video here, but couldn't get it to work.

Re: New Big Block Progress
Installed the motor and am getting ready to hook up the plumbing, electrical and a/c. Her are a few photos of where I decided to go with the tach. It was a pain to get the wiring through the cab and not be seen, but we managed it. Now I just need to punch a hole where my tach is and fish the wires and I am done with that part of the install.
