Door Hinges-Are you serious
Got a kit with new pins/bushings for my 60 which has a healthy sag on one of the doors. The bottom hinge bushing was really bad and the pin was actually broke where it meets the bottom. I removed the the hinge and worked on this thing for hours trying to get the pieces of the pin out. Tried heat, air chisel, beat it to death with a sledge, still won't come out. What is the deal here, shouldn't be that tight! Anyone have a secret way of getting these pins out of the hinge. I'm about ready to drill em out if something doesen't happen soon.

Mine in my 66 were also very diffucult. I ended up marring the hinge with the vise jaws. Im gonna use an arbor press for the others.

Re: Door Hinges-Are you serious
I build hot rods for a living and hinges are always the worst part of the build! My way of separating the pin from the hinge is to drill a small pilot hole down the center of the pin (drill press works best) and once the hole is drilled through apply heat from a torch...almost red hot works best. Let your hinge cool naturally (force cooling can make the hinge brittle and it will break when put back into use) The pin itself will expand when heated and as it cools it will contract and most of the time with the pilot hole drilled it will contract enough that you can air chisel it out...
