Brake line mat'l?
I had previously shinned the lines up with steel wool assuming they were aluminum and they came out looking good. I was getting the master cylinder ready to paint and some cleaner got on the brake line. It appears they are copper with some type of coating?? That's not going to work having it look like that, are the lines copper?

Re: Brake line mat'l?
They are plated steel. Copper under a zinc based anti corrosion.
If you want shiney buy the stainless, $189 from Inline Tube IIRC. Otherwise you can polish them very lightly and then clear them, it will last a few months. Breaking thru the copper is bad, there wil be rust on the way.
