Help
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just lowered my 72 LB with 2.5 in drop spindles in the front. Looks great but I have a problem. First off, whenever I put the thing in gear it does not creep forward like it used to. When I'm driving, I hear a scraping noise coming from the driver side front. Along with a popping that seems to happen every time the wheel turns. Also when I turn the truck I hear a wierd rubbing sound coming from the same area?!!! Surely the whell isn't hitting the fender. There seems to be plenty of room. The tires are not stock though. They are cooper cobra P255 70 R15. I think i posted this in the wrong spot earlier. Sorry. Can somebody give me some advice? |

Re: Help
Is the inside of the wheel rubbing the lower control arm?
This is common with 15" wheels with more than 3.5" of backspacing.

Re: Help
Got any pics of the suspension?
The red line in this picture is where they normally rub.

Re: Help
Here are some pics of the drivers side. If thats rubbing, how do i keep it from doing so? Its still making a scraping noise and a popping noise. Won't creep forward when in gear and when i turn the wheel it makes noise also.

Re: Help
It probably rubs worse when you turn.
Also,... if there are any wheel weights on the inside, those could be making a popping noise. Make sure the dust shield isn't rubbing. You can jack up the front, with the truck on jack stands and a floor jack under the outer edge of the lower a-arm. Slowly rotate the tire and see where it is making contact. You will need to trim/grind some clearance in the lower a-arm. Not much. Just enough to stop the interference. Turn the wheels left and check,... and then right, and check.
