Component ID Please
I have a battery drain on my new to me 71 C30. I have isolated it to what looks like a relay at the 2 Oclock position just off the fuse block on the inside firewall. It has 3 wires attached in a 1 over 2 spade set up like a 7" headlight connection. Larger red and green and a smaller black. I need to figure out if the problem is the component or what the wires go to. I dont have a FSM yet so any help is much appreciated. What is it?

Sounds like the horn relay.

Re: Component ID Please
does this look like the little buggar?
pull the connector off and listen for a click. If you hear one it means the black wire is grounded up in the steering column and the horn was blowing so the PO probably disconnected the horns and didn't realize that the relay would stay energized and pull juice from the battery. See if the horns have been disconnected.

Re: Component ID Please
If your horn works, and you can feel (with your hand) the relay "click", then it's okay. If it is hot to the touch while the horn doesn't work.....that's different.
