anybody drop a suburban with jeep or chevelle coils?

I saw in another post about using jeep springs but never got a reply on what year and make of jeep springs they are using. Hope someone chimes in. I have some jeep springs laying in the garage.

Late 90s/early 00 Wrangler springs, from what I've gathered.

Is it the rear or front coils they are using?

Its the rear jeep springs and 70-72 chevelle rear springs but I think the burban might be to heavy

I've herd 3 to 4 I think it depends on how much sag your stock springs allready have

Late 90's/early 2000's rear TJ springs will work. I currently have TJ springs in but they are not strong enough for suburbans. It will sit right on the bump stops if you install them by themselves. What I have done (not preferred) is install the TJ springs, put in the little rubber "helper" blocks that you can buy at any parts store, and then I installed a set of air shocks. It rides quite nice and I just towed my 13' camp trailer 220 miles round trip without a problem. With the air shocks, you can adjust your ride height from sitting on the axle to about an inch off of the axle.

This pic is with that set-up and sitting about 1/2" off the bump stops.

I just had a thought. Has anyone tried to find a set of Chevelle station wagon Moog cargo coils?(Maybe even 77-up Caprice rear wagon springs). The chassis on the 77 to 96 Caprices and wagons are the same, plus they had about the same wheelbase as the early Chevelle wagons(116") These may be perfect for an old Suburban, plus they are a progressive rate spring, so when you load them they stiffen up.

You can get air bags for the rear if you are on coils, you than can adjust to any height you want. about $200.00 if you are on coils. the real expense is the compressor and valves, so just go with a schrader valve height control and later as your budget allows you can get fancy. It is adjustable , easy to install and rides better. Kieth

I allready have air shocks The po put in. I plan to haul a little camper eventually I think the chevelle coils will be ok I plan on mini notching it and adding 2 inch blocks also I allready have the notches and adjustable panhard/ track bar

Just wanted to add a note to this thread about the rear Jeep TJ/LJ springs.
There are four different versions of the springs that were used from 1997 through 2006. These are the ones that can be used on the C10. Similar rear springs could be found on the Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ. All four versions are the same length wise but vary in rate.
The only way to tell them apart is by the color coded tags that are on the springs from the factory, they read as follows:
103AA (or 3AA) 130lb.
104AA (or 4AA) 140lb.
105AA (or 5AA) 150lb.
106AA (or 6AA) 160lb.
The colors on the tags can vary and the rates are "ball park"
