1968 C-10, 327 upper radiator hose
I am trying to find a correct upper radiator hose and water outlet for my Chevy C-10. It has the original 327 and radiator. The original, factory water outlet and upper radiator hose are long-gone to reference.
Available molded water hoses through NAPA and LMC Truck are cut to fit. It seems a cut to fit hose makes a >90 degree turn from the radiator towards the water outlet and does not have another angle in it for a turn into a water outlet. I am trying to find the correct parts through LMC Truck but customer service reps are unfamiliar with cars completely. Is the original 327 water outlet on the intake manifold angled towards the upper radiator outlet? Can anyone provide a good reference photo of a factory original setup? I've found a few references in the forums about steel upper radiator hoses. Is it possible that a steel hose was the original installation? Here is an image of a 307 factory install: http://www.classictrucks.com/feature.../photo_02.html Thanks for the help. Last edited by gregz68c10; 06-27-2011 at 01:09 PM. |

steel was on 4x4's IIRC...
I might have an extra intake inlet, let me check the garage tonight... more pics in my build thread, I found a hose at NAPA that worked pretty nice, I'll see if I still have that for reference as well.

and here http://www.truckandcarshop.com/trucks60_72/t60_077.html looks like they have some options for your hose and intake neck...

Re: 1968 C-10, 327 upper radiator hose
just for info in the future if you need info about belts and hoses we have a General Parts Group (they own napa) manufacturing Rep in the family if needed and they handle the Gates Account
the part number is 20607 for a 1968 w/ 327 oem hose. yes napa sells them They are made by Gates Corp. to compare. here is the 1967 with a 327 part number 20543 similiar to the 307 in your first post. last pic Last edited by mbgmike; 06-28-2011 at 07:37 PM. Just wanted to say thank you to mbgmike for taking the time to round up those part numbers. My local NAPA had one in stock.
