Metal Shavings in Fan Clutch

I have never replaced a fan clutch, but I discovered some shavings jammed on the shaft of the clutch when I removed it to replace the water pump. The fan seemed to be working OK, but I assume that I should replace it. What is involved with replacement? Just remove the 4 bolts and attach a new clutch to the fan blades?
