64 gauge bezel question
Why are some bezels black, while others are silver in color. What determined the color in a particular truck?

Re: 64 gauge bezel question
I believe it's determined by the year the truck was made. My thoughts were that 64 and 66 were silver, and 65 was black. I'm also guessing the instrument bezel and glove box trim should match. See pics below
Top picture is a '65 custom. Bottom is a '66 standard. Both are factory untouched. EDIT: since posting, I've seen a few 64's with black bezels. Correct? ..or mix-n'-match? ...Hmmm, I dunno. Last edited by oem4me; 08-06-2011 at 01:15 AM. |

Re: 64 gauge bezel question
Here's an orig '64 custom. Looks like a '65 except for the white steering wheel.

Re: 64 gauge bezel question
^^^^It looks like that '64 has the '66 door panels in it, which I think look better than the '64/'65 panels. That's what I plan on doing to mine, along with a fawn column and steering wheel, which was originally ivory. I'm not crazy about that much white on the panels and dash area. Mine's not a 100% resto anyway.
