How to remove hubs

Hey all, need info on how to remove the hubs on my 69 Blazer. I can get the locking hubs off, but after that, I have no ideas. The reason I'm doing it is to replace the studs and check the bearings as there is some up and down endplay in the hub.

Re: How to remove hubs

I have taken lots of them off over the years and if I remember right after you take the 6 screws and the cover off you can use a screwdriver or snap ring pliers to get the ring clip off. It fits in a groove on the outside edge holding everything in. Once that is off then the gears come out and then you have a nut holding the bearings in. It's not hard at all. Good luck

Thanks. I guess there is so much old grease in there I couldn't tell it was a snap ring.

Re: How to remove hubs

Yep, you were right. There were two snap rings in there. One on the end of the spindle and then a large one that held the guts in the hub. Everything else just pulled right out. Repacked the bearings and reinstalled. Thanks for the help RShaips!
