Headlights out on "72 Blazer

Hey guys. I was going down the road the other day and my headlights went out. I've only had limited time to figure out the problem, but I did not see a fuse for headlights. Is there a fuse located somewhere else or have you had a similar issue?

Thanks in advance.

Dan

Check your dimmer switch. Its common for them to rust out, or just go out

I would guess the dimmer switch or headlight switch. I have had both go out (at different times).
But, check the headlights too. It would be odd, but maybe they both blew out at once.

the headlight switch has the circuit breaker built into it. If they came back on after a couple seconds, then off again, etc. it's usually a shorted wire. if you just hit your dimmer switch when they went off, it will probably be the gremlin. But i agree, it's probably either your light switch or dimmer switch.

Re: Headlights out on "72 Blazer

Thanks guys! It was the dimmer switch indeed. My rusty pal has been giving me one problem after another for the past few weeks. Absolute pain to get it cranked for one. Yesterday I stopped to get some gas and either the solenoid or the ignition switch is going bad. Thankfully my dad showed me how to start it up at the starter a while back or I would have been a sitting duck at the pump. On the other hand, it's sort of fun when your vehicle makes driving it around a "challenge". So far the Blazer is beating me by a couple points though
