Remove Auto Shift Knob?
How do I remove the shift knob(end)? Also, is it threaded? Or do I have to thread it? I want to install a neat knob on it, not the usual beer tap, tiki head, beer bottle, doorknob, but something much neater.

Re: Remove Auto Shift Knob?
I just cut the wrapping off, and took a pair of vice grips and twisted the plastic piece off. It worked, but the knob wasn't reusable.

Re: Remove Auto Shift Knob?
It's a press on knob. Just pull like hell and it'll come off.

Re: Remove Auto Shift Knob?
Darn, so I have to thread it unless I want to glue a new one on.

Correct. It is splined not threaded.

Re: Remove Auto Shift Knob?
Correct me if I'm wrong but a tap and die set threads holes, not rods?

Re: Remove Auto Shift Knob?
A tap is for holes and a die is for rods.
