t56 swap

Hi guys I know this has been covered before but can't find the exact info I need. I have an 86 SWB soon to be LT1/T56. My question. Is I know that in a 2wd cab its said the trans tunnel needs to be modified. I don't know exactly how much or in what way specifically. Does the front or rear need to be taller or wider. Am I better off modifying the 2wd tunnel or just cutting out a 4wd tunnel and welding it in from firewall to rear cab wall? Thanks for your help also any other tips or tricks ill need would be helpful
