Power Steering Help
My 75 has manual steerring and i am looking to put power steering on it but i dont know what parts i need . Can anyone help me with a list of parts and tips. thanks

You need to grab a complete set of pulleys and brackets to fit your engine...all from the same engine. If you try to mix n' match, it probably won't turn out well.
Then you just need the power box, the pump, the two hoses, and some ATF and the power steering pitman arm. I don't know about hydroboost, that might be more difficult. I put power steering on my Integrated head straight six by snagging all the brackets and pulleys from a late 70s California Nova...I needed to use a CA car in my application because i needed to keep the smog pump. I had to trim my smog pump a little to fit power steering pump, but after my conversion, it seems all GM cars, even today's LS engines use a similar power steering pump, except the fittings and threads might be metric. |
