is a '67 opener the same as the '68-'71 part?

Look at the LMC for the part and if it is different then bam. But i think all the inners are the same except 72. Good luck my friend

The '67 door handles and window cranks were a little skinnier that the '68 -'72 units. I don't know if you can get repops and I believe the OEM ones sold out some years ago. The '68-and-later handles fit and work the same. Only an "expert" could tell the difference. Also because they were so slender, they tended to break a little easier. I think the wider handles came out so they wouldn't break as often. I bought a '67 Suburban in 1993. It had a mixed bag of door and window crank handles, some '67 and some '68s. The old 3-Door Sub has 4 window cranks and 3 door handles.
Of course, the Chinese "Help" repops that Checker Auto sells, break if you sneeze at them or even just look at them cross-eyed, and they're only available in the wider, post- '68 style.
'72s use the same handles as the '68s, but because of the plastic door panel. they have higher posts on the control spindles that the handles snap onto.

in a post dated 10-10, i asked about an inside door[ remote] opener for my '67 C-10. no parts catalogs i could find showed a part for the '67, only '68-up.

i ordered a driver side inside [remote] opener, for the '68-up truck. the splined shaft was the same length, however the groove is in a different place [closer to the door, whereas the '67 is farther to the end]. i chucked my new one up in a cross vise, put a small cut off wheel in my drill press. set the height to the same as the original '67. figured out how deep to make the cut and simply drove around the the shaft. after installing the new one, i ended up using two plastic washers to take up a bit of extra space.

it's nice to have a handle with returns to the correct position now.
