Re: partial boxing frame in?
I got to meet with oure member dwcsr/ Dave Chapman this morning! It's nice to meet with fellow members! He's going to use the template I made and cut it out with his plasma cutter~ neato! He's got a neat place with lots of engines, parts, a couple apaches! So, one thing down, now to order the engine mount and transmission mount, and order the replica engine for mocking up fitment.
Thanks Mark (mnittle), since Dave is going to cut the part out that I need, that will take care of that. I can put in the stress relief things with my torch. I'll keep posting. Now~ time to spend some time with my kids! ; ) |

Re: partial boxing frame in?
if you don't take the cross members out there will be no new channel behind them.and that makes a weaker spot right where there is the most force. And that is right next to a place in the frame that resists movement. that will fatigue and will crack>now if the "channel were to run the length of the frame rail that would eliminate those weaker spots. However to make a channel that would fit that well would be all most impossible in most hoe shops. os boxing is much simpler.
