I ordered the replacement drag link setup from LMC, and the new one consists of three pieces, two different ends and an adjusting sleeve. My original one was a one-piece. Is there a problem if i have the front and rear ones mixed up? I wasn't there when my guy put them on, and i dont know which one he put in the front or back. Why would the two pieces be different sizes? Are they forged at different angles? Does this photo look right? it looks like it is at an angle to me.

Is your steering box centered so that the wheels are straight and the steering wheel will make the same number of turns left and right?

You are better off with the three piece because it is adjustable. GM upgraded to the adjustable in '72. Both ends are the same. There is no front or back,it can be installed which ever way you want. Both ends should be the same.

I have seen them mounted both ways, although as I recall one of the ends is longer than the other. Functionally, it makes no difference. Some parts listings refer to them as "front" and "rear" though, so if you ever have to replace one be sure to get the one with the correct threads (LH or RH).

thanks, i see now. the direction of the threads is the difference.
