need some opinions please
I'm looking to buy this truck and want some opinions...
67, with recent rebuilt 350 (strong engine) with average parts but I think it was done right...sounds good with a nice lopey cam but not too much. Th-350 says rebuilt also. 12 bolt with posi, maybe stock wood floor not there, not much rust from what I can tell, some in the driver rocker and floor tires are shot and rub on bed side PS, PB (disc in the front) must have been replaced from drum. What would a high price and a low price be for this? I can't make up my mind. Thanks |

Re: need some opinions please
Looks like a 68 to me.I see a dent on the passenger door, and with the rust issues it seems like a decent project truck, but not worth big bucks. It kind of depends on how much you like it and what you can buy it for.By the time you fix it up,it will likely be cheaper to buy one already finished. If you are truly interested don't be afraid to offer low on it.Don't get me wrong,I think it's a cool truck but the economy is keeping prices low.

Re: need some opinions please
The economy is the biggest problem right now. It seems that none has any money to spend. I live in a small farming town and money is always tighter there first when things start going bad and it is the last to come out when money starts flowing agian. Prices just depend on the area . A truck that might bring 5000 in your area might struggle to get 2000 in mine. The onset of the internet helps some but not much. This is a problem I have been faced with since going into the car bussiness in 1987, But the last 14-18 months are the worst I have ever seen. Jim

Re: need some opinions please
Looks like a really cool builder to me. (primer can hide alot however)
I could be wrong but I think in my area (PA) it might go about $1,500-$2,500 depending on the engine. If the engine comes with paperwork to prove the rebuild and what's in it, that would be a plus and could add to the estimate above. Of course, your area might be completely different. Here, there aren't many around... In 97, I bought a 69 stepside in far worse condition for 1K. It had a crappy worn out 307, no brakes, plenty of rot and needed just about everything. I thought I over paid at the time but have no regrets now.

Re: need some opinions please
here in calif if the truck has front disc brakes power brakes power steering then your half way done and if it has a 12 bolt posi if it has a coil rear end and its a short bed well 1500.00 to 2000.00 in your state would be a good deal.Check the floor boards for any cancer and i mean any check the roof and the pillars the doors can be replaced.Under the hood check if there is any damage to the frame like any one's welded anything like a cracked frame Check the shock bolts mostly in the front looks for cracks and look around the steering box its common if you can drive it it would help.If you can get it up in the air and have a mechanic look at it would be better

Re: need some opinions please
It is my experience, @ least near where I live, the motor is what calls the price! That truck would probably bring between $1500 and $3500 based on the drivetrain! I think if you could get it for in that ball park you would have a good base on your hands... Definitely let us know what you decide!
As everyone else has said, make sure you go over it with a fine tooth comb... |

Re: need some opinions please
If you get serious, I would verify the posi. I've looked at a number of cars and trucks over the years that said "posi" in the ad, but it wasn't there when we jacked it up or looked inside.

Re: need some opinions please
Recepts for the engine and tranny build will go a long way in improving the value. Looks rough in pics like others said. Gray primer can hide a ton of flaws. Take a magnet over it unless you like bodywork.
