2008 door chimes

the chimes drive me crazy (relatively speaking) and i decided to disconnect it.
it actually plays through the left front speaker. I cut the dark green wire #13
behind the radio. the chimes stopped. funny, the directionals make no noise now either. all my warning lights work just fine. only thing not working is the radio. any one try this before ?

Re: 2008 door chimes

Those chimes drive me crazy on my 03 Tahoe. Hope there are some good responses on resolving this issue.

I really hated hooking that wire back up, but no cd player and no ipod hookup,
I had to do it.

Re: 2008 door chimes

I have a speaker on order for my 08 because the blinkers stopped making noise. The 1st thing the service writer asked was "does the radio work?"
Turns out the LF speaker went out taking with it the "chime"

I'd rather not disconnect the speaker. I know that some
foreign cars can be programmed to shut of that "ding".

Mine came and went a couple times. 2 speakers replaced under warranty.
