The stock cumputer does not like cams that aren't designed for EFI systems. Basically there are two different systems, speed density and mass air flow. You can get away with more changes with mass air flow systems, there are more differences between the two. It will be an easier conversion to find a complete engine in the car, then you'll have everything you'll need for the conversion. It's a great choice, the engine is all low end, these motors are good for about 4800 rpm's. Most rednecks couldn't figure out why they changed gears and the car went slower. Good luck, Ron.
