WOW purdy truck (65 - Hemmings, not mine)
I can't afford it, but I sure saved some pics for reference! Still trying to decide if I like how he did the in-dash a/c vents. Sure is a nice truck and I like the color.

I know what you mean on the ac vents. They seem a little to squared off in that curved area of the dash. Just don't quite fit the flow of things.

All that work and he can't source an original heater block off plate under the hood, also why why put a radio in like that when there is places that modernize a stock one. Also the AC vents are wrong, should have put an old 60's under dash in to make it period correct.

Very nice truck, IMO round ac vents would be more pleasing to the eye. The radio is a no brainer for sure if they are being correct there. I love the color is that also not correct? Curious...Vernski

5K original miles and it is that poor of a resto? why wouldnt you leave the original motor in there? the radio is also not my choice either, I also agree with the heater block off plate too. "laminate" wood int he bed? how cheap. especially for $30K

Re: WOW purdy truck (65 - Hemmings, not mine)
Hey guys, it is not a correct restoration but at least the guy is asking what it cost to build the truck, we are all so tight that we do not think our own trucks are worth very much. I know it costs to build these trucks and he did upgrade it nicely yet still made it look pretty stock. I wonder what the difference is in a rotissarie rebuild and just doing it on the shop floor............and turning it over when you wanted to work on the bottom.

Re: WOW purdy truck (65 - Hemmings, not mine)
interesting - I'm a "picture" kinda guy - and I didn't even read the description. In my mind, this was a resto-mod, clearly. Didn't catch that there were descriptions that might lead one to think it's restored. It's not, but it's a nice truck. I think he went to a lot of trouble to make it look nice and succeeded in that - but no, it doesn't have everything perfect resto-ready. But it has a/c, pbrakes, etc (and yes, i've decided, not so good lookin a/c vents...)
But don't doubt it took to build what he is asking for it. |

lol.. you guys are picking it apart, as if its a concours restoration. It is a pretty truck, not perfect.. but damn nice. I just can't believe the prices they are getting compared to a few years ago..

I know, makes me feel good knowing mine will be a factory correct resto and should be able to do it for under 15K
