What did you get done 9/11/11 edition
I finally received a new column for my truck but ive yet to mess with it. I spent the weekend taking care of things for the house and blowing off some rounds shooting clay pigeons.. how about you all?

Re: What did you get done 9/11/11 edition
Just got off of work and going to start removing my bench seat and carpet to install some factory buckets, console, and new carpet. This might bleed over into the 9/13 or 9/14 edition. LOL

All I was able to accomplish was breaking a rod and walking home 12 and a half miles.

Re: What did you get done 9/11/11 edition
Cleaned out the pool, watched football, decided to take the light bar off of Smurfette and paint it white (project for tomorrow) so it matches the wheels. Going out tonight to a grave yard to see if we can capture some more freaky pictures.
The image to the far left is in the middle of an open field. There is nothing there except grass and a fence line.

Started prepping my '50 for a coat of black primer. Hopefully I'll shoot it early Monday morning.
Took the Heap for a 50 mile trip, hadn't driven it in a while, dang I love that truck!

Re: What did you get done 9/11/11 edition
Well got the Exhaust installed this week (duals threw Thrush Turbo Mufflers dumped before the rear end) so started working on getting the new engine tunes up.
Adjusted the Valves and Air Fuel and what not and she fired right up. Have a little bit of a surge so i am pretty sure i have a vacuum leak so i have that to trace. Also, got the Gauge Cluster with a Tach in it (from Ebay) so i started removing parts to put the tach and fuel gauge on my Cluster. Everything is removed, just have to retro everything. Got a game plan on mounting the MegaSquirt ECU and Relay Box's along with installing the Innovation LC-1 Wide Band O2. Ordered the TBI to Carb flange plate from Jegs so i guess after i get the Vacuum leak isue resolved, it will be time to install efi system Will start off with taking over fuel control and then spark a week or so later.

Re: What did you get done 9/11/11 edition
Worked on the '86 GMC on Saturday.
I think I figured out why it wouldn't start and what that terrible noise was. On Sunday I took my wife and met some friends at the Reno Balloon Races. She had never been before. Had to get up at 4:00 in the morning to get there for the Dawn Patrol. It was worth it, but ruined the rest of the day getting up that early. |

Re: What did you get done 9/11/11 edition
Scored a couple of decent door panels and a custom grill at the local pick-a-part. Began the teardown, started with the harness under the hood. So far the wiring looks unmolested despite rodents nesting in it, found a patch of straw on top of the transmission.

Got a ton of stuff accomplished on Ol Yeller over the weekend!! Put on my long tube headers, dual 3" pipes with stainless steel Flowmaster 40s, slapped on an Elelbrock 650 I got for 60 bucks, and picked up a set of SWEET buckets from a late model Sierra...all in all, a great weekend!!!
