So I`m in the process of replacing the interior of my 69C10, the nuts need to be replaced on the drivers door, I have the correct ones that insert from the inside of the door, how do I get to the one closest to the hinge? it has another piece of sheet metal over it on the inside?

I filed the hole so a square nut would fit and then welded it in place using a bolt to hold the nut in position.

Any chance a uy could reach in and get the nut out that fell in behind the hole?

You can try fishing around with a magnet.

Here's a tip I used:
I replaced the rusted and broken "nuts" in the doors with those square nylon/plastic license plate fasteners.
After stripping and drilling out the seized door panel screws, I just popped out the welded nuts. Then push in the square license plate nuts. They locked right into the square hole in the door. You can then "tap" new threads into the plastic by screwing in the bolt of your choice. I used stainless 1/4-20 screws with finishing washers. The finishing washers hide the rounded out door panel screw holes.
The plastic nuts will never rust, and only a buck or two for a set of four.

That's a great tip! I've had some stripped door panel screws staring me in the face for about two months now because i wasn't sure what to do with them - now I know.
