Manual window regulator bushings
Has anyone had any luck replacing the nylon bushings (3ea) on the manual window regulator? (66 C10)
My regulator is in great shape other then these bushings (which aren't that bad, just a little flat spotting). I have seen no replacement kits, parts or mods for these... Ideas or fixes welcome!!! Thanks!! Cww |

Re: Manual window regulator bushings
LMC only has them for 60-63, IDK why not 64-66.

Re: Manual window regulator bushings
first, you have to take the whole window regulator assembly out of the door.
You have to drill/grind out the old metal parts that hold the nylon rollers on. put in the new metal pieces with shiny new nylon rollers into the holes... make sure you have the rollers pointed the correct way... you have to 'peen' over the metal piece to make them hold... basically the metal is somewhat soft when tapped by a hammer... so it mashes down like a mushroom. Then you put it all back together. This is a lot easier to do if you have another set of hands helping you hold on to everything. Someone on here took pics when they did theirs... a few years back... if I can recall who, I'll post the link. -W |
